Elf Audition Information
Audition Dates:
Friday 31st March - Sunday 2nd April 2023. Possible callbacks Monday 3rd April.
Individual audition time slots will be emailed to you.
Meet & Greet:
Wednesday 1st March 2023
All auditionees except Choir will be taught the basic dance/movement choreography. Selected characters plus Dancers will be taught further choreography.
All applicants auditioning for a Principal role must be aged 16+ unless auditioning for the role of Michael. Children aged between 7 - 15 may audition to form part of the Ensemble.
Audition forms closed on Monday 20th February 2023.

Buddy
Identifies as: Male
Vocals: Tenor
Playing age: 25 - 45
Born a human but raised at the North Pole as a Christmas Elf, Buddy is eager to find his place in the world. He is a child at heart and that child-like curiosity makes him both endearing and gets him into trouble.
Must be a strong triple threat with great comedic timing. Great availability is required for this role as Buddy is rarely offstage!
Ability to roller-skate is a bonus.

Buddy’s girlfriend. She works at Macy’s and has a bit of a cynical outlook on life and love because of the men she’s dated. She is caught off guard by Buddy’s genuinely big heart.
Ability to roller-skate is a bonus.

Walter Hobbs

Buddy’s workaholic father. He is a Children’s book writer, but lacks any of the childlike spirit that Buddy has. He is selfish, tense, and generally angry with life.

Emily Hobbs

Walter’s wife. Though she is sweet and willing to take him in, she thinks Buddy is crazy at first. Wishes her husband would spend more time with the family.

Michael Hobbs

Buddy’s stepbrother who is excited to have a new friend and brother. Unlike his mother, he doesn’t take much convincing to have Christmas spirit, but like his mother, he wishes his father would spend more time with the family.

Just another working man. Loves his job and Christmas, but also likes to kick-back and watch the game when a rare opportunity arises. A natural storyteller.

Walter’s secretary. Takes an instant liking to Buddy simply for the novelty of it. Though she aims to please and is a bit of a suck-up, she feels under appreciated.

A strong dance ensemble will play various characters including- Elves, Store Elves, Fake Santas & Christmas Temps, Waitresses, People of New York NB: As Elves, dancers will be required to perform on their knees for the duration of the songs and scenes.
